Description of the contract

Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service acting on behalf of themselves and South Wales Fire and Rescue Service are inviting tenders from suppliers interested in providing a service to test and maintain their Breathing Apparatus Cylinders.

This requirement will be split into 2 Lots:

Lot 1 - Mid & West Wales Fire & Rescue Service (MAWWFRS)

Lot 2 - South Wales Fire & Rescue Service (SWFRS)

This contract will also be open to North Wales Fire and Rescue Service, should they wish to participate at any time during the term of the contract.

Suppliers may bid for either or both Lots.

Suppliers will be required to carry out periodic statutory hydraulic testing and maintenance of Breathing Apparatus Cylinders in accordance with all current and relevant standards by means of a rolling programme.

The successful contractor will be required to provide the service until 31st December 2015 with an option to extend for upto a further 2 years.

Both Lots will be evaluated on the basis of 40% Price and 60% Quality - for additional information please see the ITT document which can be found in the resources section below.

Instructions to suppliers

The Tender process will be as follows:

Submission of a completed Pre-Qualification Questionnaire (PQQ) along with tender documentation (ITT Part 1 & 2) for either or both Lots.

Please be aware that suppliers who bid for both Lots will only need to submit one completed PQQ.

It is imperative that you follow the instructions in the Tender documentation and adhere to the deadline provided as failure to do so will invalidate you from the tender process.

ALL TENDERS MUST BE SUBMITTED IN HARD COPY FORMAT AS PER THE INSTRUCTIONS - TENDERS SUBMITTED IN ANY OTHER FORMAT WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.

ALL TENDERS TO BE SUBMITTED TO THE CLERK OF MID & WEST WALES FIRE & RESCUE SERVICE BY NO LATER THAN NOON ON 27TH AUGUST 2010.
