Q: What is Sell2Wales?
A: Sell2Wales is an initiative from the Welsh Development Agency and the Welsh Assembly Government that aims to help small and medium companies work successfully with public sector clients.
Q: What are CPV codes?
A: Common Procurement Vocabulary (CPV) codes were introduced by the EU in an attempt to standardise the classification of goods and services for the benefit of both publishing authorities and suppliers.
Q: What are the benefits of supplying to the public sector?
A: Public sector organisations make excellent clients because:
  • They are long standing and stable
  • Have honesty and integrity in the way they do business
  • Follow strict payment terms (Usually 30 days)
  • Spend over £3billion a year on goods and services (in Wales alone)
  • Make purchasing decisions based on value for money not just lowest cost.

Q: Which Public Sector bodies are currently using the site?
A: Wales has over 100 Public Sector bodies all funded by the Welsh Assembly.

The Welsh Assembly Government has a strong commitment to “stream lining the procurement process.”

Therefore all Public Sector bodies within Wales are being encouraged to use the Sell2Wales website to publish their tender notices.
